Recent updates to the Inspect Point platform allow users to do more from the field more efficiently—and simplify back-office operations in the process.
A More Streamlined Mobile Experience
Key elements of Inspect Point’s mobile app have been updated to streamline technician experience in the field and enhance efficiency.
First, the all new “action” bar: At the top of the mobile app, we’ve added a new header with action buttons for quick and easy navigation. Now, technicians can scan a barcode, edit deficiencies or recommendations, review building access information, or access messages with a single click on the header—no scrolling necessary.
Plus, the app now includes a global “add” button for anything and everything technicians may need to add during inspections or service work: time entries, materials used, photos and attachments, and items to inspect.
Not only do these mobile app enhancements streamline inspections and service work, helping technicians complete jobs with greater efficiency and accuracy, but these improvements also help streamline technician onboarding. The intuitive navigation makes it easier than ever to learn how to use the app and to complete jobs efficiently. And this is just the beginning of our mobile interface enhancements—stay tuned for more to come!
Note: Make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of iOS to ensure access to the updated navigational features.
A Picture’s Worth a Thousand Words
Pictures are a critical part of fire protection inspections and service work. You might take photos of compliant devices for proof of a completed job and, critically, of deficient devices to showcase problems. Effective photo management is essential to efficiently completing jobs, creating accurate reports, and achieving higher proposal acceptance rates.
Updated Photo Management Features
Now, it’s easier than ever to manage photos from the office or the field in Inspect Point. Review photo listings on building, inspection, and work order pages. And get instant visibility into photo details, including the date and time the photo was taken, the photo type, and related documentation.
The clear and consistent organization of photos makes it quick and easy to review deficiency photos on inspections or work orders when drafting a proposal. Plus, you can automatically add photos to proposals or download them for use elsewhere.
Do more from the field more efficiently—and simplify back-office operations in the process.
New Photo Annotation Features
Inspect Point has also added the ability for technicians to annotate photos in-app. Using your device’s built-in photo editor, technicians can easily draw on or crop photos within Inspect Point to highlight deficiencies and make the purpose of the photo clear. To ensure compliance, you can choose to include the annotated version of the photo, the original version of the photo, or both within the report.
These features enhance customer communication by demonstrating the problem and clearly showing what needs to be fixed. You can even increase the likelihood of proposal acceptance by better helping your customers understand and visualize deficiencies.
Technician Portal Enhancements
Technicians can now generate reports and invoices directly from the technician portal, with no need to switch to the office view. Generate a report or an invoice with just one click immediately following the inspection. Not only does this mean you can complete jobs more efficiently, but it also streamlines the ITM process for your customers.
Rather than waiting hours, days, or even weeks to receive a report, customers get access to documentation immediately following the visit. And, the faster you get the invoice to the customer, the faster you get paid—that’s a win for everyone.
Note: Technicians do not automatically have access to these capabilities. Contact your CSM to enable this setting for your technicians.
